Name the top 3 things about working in sales.
I love the creativity that’s involved with the role, the opportunities and the variety of skill development. And I like to travel.
What’s the worst way to ruin a sales demo?
Repeating your company’s story or history or elevator pitch verbatim from the marketing-approved script.
How do you handle the stress from working in sales?
I always take all of my PTO. And when I am on PTO, the notifications are off on the phone.
What should reps do to make the buying experience better for prospects?
Prioritize responsiveness. You can’t be the delay and the hold up. Even if you’re tracking down answers or need something internally, make that known and then remove every bit of work you possibly can for your buyer.
How do you keep prospects’ attention during a demo?
Demonstrate that you understand their business.
What’s the most awkward thing that ever happened to you on a Zoom call?
This is an internal call. We were doing a cocktail class together, and like a minute in the very first cocktail, I sliced my finger with the peeler and had to run to the urgent care.
